Merrick Phillips - Vocals, Guitars

As China Grove's founder, Merrick has assembled some of Nashville's finest musicians to pay homage to the Doobie Brothers. With the goal of faithfully reproducing their songs as originally recorded, authenticity is his mantra and the driving force behind every song China Grove performs. A veteran of the tribute scene, Merrick has also performed the music of The Eagles, Pink Floyd, Billy Joel, Elton John, Aerosmith, ABBA and many others.

Jim Mexdorf - Keyboards, Vocals

Playing piano at five years old and studying classical music at seven would set the stage for Jim, who over the next 15 years would win numerous awards at music competitions. Over the course of his musical career he would find himself backing up pop legend, Lesley Gore and opening for the likes of Charlie Daniels. After raising a family and retiring from a successful career in finance, Jim turned his focus back to music, touring with high-level tribute acts such as Xpedition, performing the music of Journey, Kansas, Styx and Foreigner. Coming full circle we find Jim in Nashville, bringing his passion, decades of experience and some serious chops to China Grove.

Andy Brown - Guitars, Vocals

As a native Nashvillian, Andy grew up in the heart of Music City, picking up the guitar at the age of 10. His catalog includes Rock, Blues, Jazz, R&B and Country with some of his musical influences coming from his dad who played sessions and live gigs throughout the southeast in the '50s and '60s. Recent projects include "The Soul Survivors", "Long Story Short" and with China Grove drawing from 5 decades of Doobie Brothers hits, Andy is looking forward to bringing smiles to audiences for many more years to come.

Logan Linning - Drums

Logan hails from the Rocky Mountains and now calls Music City his home. This mountain man knows how to find a pocket and groove, whether it’s touring the UK with indie folk-style band “The Young Republic,” nailing classic rock downtown or playing tried and true country music throughout the Midwest. As an artist and staple in the genre-expanding jam scene of Nashville, Logan is the conduit of the magical feel of music, a musician who plays what the music demands.

Mick Nantell - Bass, Vocals

A multi-instrumentalist hailing from Northern California, Mick has spent most of his life performing in front of an audience. At the age of five he began playing the piano and organ for family and friends and shortly thereafter, Mick was competing in regional and national talent shows as well as playing the county and state fair circuit. Mick’s passion for the bass ignited in the late 1970s while being exposed to bands like EWF, Yes, Chicago and of course, The Doobie Brothers. Having performed thousands of shows and touring nationwide over the past 35 years, Mick considers himself a “support player” upon which the other members of the band can build and shine.
